Google recently rolled out another update to its search algorithms—the December 2022 Google Link Spam Update. This latest rollout began on December 14th and was expected to take up to two weeks for full implementation. It was completed by the start of 2023.

This newest update targets sites that are buying links and sites that are used for passing outgoing links. When detected as spam, the links won’t be counted, which could lead to a decline in ranking.

What Makes This Google Link Spam Algorithm Update Different From Others?

Google is now using its AI-based spam detection tool, SpamBrain, for link spam purposes. This new feature will affect websites globally and across all languages.

If you’re running a website, it’s important that you take the necessary steps to ensure your links are not considered spam. This could help avoid potential ranking declines and keep your website in good standing with Google.

What is Google SpamBrain?

Google SpamBrain is an AI-based anti-spam system that uses machine learning algorithms to identify and block spam emails. It analyzes incoming emails using a variety of techniques such as content analysis, link analysis, sender reputation scoring, and more to make sure your inbox remains clean from unsolicited messages.

Google SpamBrain also helps protect your business from phishing, malware, and other malicious activities. It is available for both Gmail and G-Suite users. With Google SpamBrain, businesses can reduce the amount of time spent dealing with unwanted emails and focus on more important tasks.

The system also serves as an additional layer of security to keep your organization safe from potential threats. To ensure optimal performance, Google SpamBrain is constantly updated with the latest security updates.
