Heads Up: Google’s Testing Changes to Local Services Ads

Google is rolling out a new experiment that could impact how your Local Services Ads (LSAs) appear in search results. The big change? The “Google Guaranteed” badge (that familiar green checkmark of trust) will soon disappear from most LSAs on the Search Results Page.
But don’t worry:
- You’re not losing your badge or its benefits.
- The Google Guarantee still applies. Customers can still be reimbursed if they’re not satisfied.
What is the “Google Guaranteed” badge?
It’s Google’s way of saying, “We’ve vetted this business.” It signals credibility and comes with a money-back guarantee funded by Google. For many users, it’s a key trust factor when choosing who to contact.
What does this change mean?
It’s still very early, but here’s what to watch for:
- Conversion rates may shift: Without the badge, users might hesitate to engage.
- If no business’ ads show the badge, the playing field could stay level.
- Whether or not Google makes this change permanent
- This could be part of a larger shift toward platform consolidation and AI-driven search.
